A Boston University Alum has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. He is Indian and there are not very many East Asian donors. He found a 60% match, but that donor became unavailable. If you think you'd like to help, please go to his website.

A clever Bugism for you
"You have to make money to spend money"
(Though thanks to credit, this is not necessarily true!)
(Or, if you are a hot broad who has no issues letting people spend money on you...)
Pregnant pause
Daily Candy sent me its weekend guide this morning. Included on the list for things to do in DC this weekend was:
HEAR
From the Hips
What: Rebecca Odes and former Washingtonian Ceridwen Morris read from their new pregnancy and parenting book.
Why: A moment on the lips, forever on the hips.
When: Sat., 1 p.m.
Where: Politics and Prose, 5015 Connecticut Ave. NW, b/t Fessenden St. & Nebraska Ave. (202-364-1919).

Take a moment to examine the why: after understanding they are reading from their pregnancy book. Does Daily Candy need the birds and bees explained to them?

Boneheaded
Did they really need to Knight Salman Rushdie? Really? Not any concern on the part of the British Parliament that maybe right now is not the best time to bestow this honor on this man? Obviously the extremists need something new to get up in arms about as the Mohammed cartoons have lost their zip, right?
Bug IT, at your service.
I got an email a few days ago, along with the rest of my office, that states that I am the new IT person. No conversation, no contemplation about the fact that it takes my home laptop an hour to finally get to the internet (and what the hell is that about?!?) Our IT guy, the one who learned this stuff and did it for a living, quit. But I am fit to maintain the office computers. Sweet.
Today, I kicked a printer and yelled for 15 minutes straight at the copier. I'm off to beat a Blackberry into submission.

T-shirt
I saw a t-shirt the other day that read:
"It's a baby, not a belly."
Where can I find the shirt that reads:
"It's a belly, not a baby"?
